| Objective: |
To ensure that personnel responsible for testing or inspecting mineral aggregates and soils are proficient and knowledgeable with applicable testing methods.

| Course Content: |
- The Moisture Density Relations of Soils Using a 5.5-lb Rammer and a Twelve-inch Drop (AASHTO T-99)
- The Moisture Density Relation of Soils Using a 10-lb Rammer and an Eighteen-inch Drop (AASHTO T-180)
- Limerock Bearing Ratio (FM 5-515)
- Laboratory Determination of Moisture Content of Granular Soils by Use of a Microwave Oven (FM 5-535)

Two days, including class and examinations.

Examinations: |
Written
Required. Multiple-choice, open book, 1.5 hours.
Proficiency
Required. Each trainee will be expected to correctly demonstrate skills in conducting the applicable test methods. Each trainee will be given two chances to pass each test. Two failures in one area will constitute failure of the proficiency examination.
